I watched the video. fancy. I'm not sure why someone would want to subvert it.
i'm not sure either. i think it was because it appeared that a monolithic thing had appropriated a tendency, or a sentiment (just more of the DIY esthetic). but also that those performing the DIY act were doing so willingly. so, being obsessed with closed systems (because they make everything okay!), i wanted to bring it back to tangible.
that, or i was just feeling reactionary. it's a better idea just to send more email.
